Marselisborg Castle

Approximately 20 km from Montra Nilles Kro you can find Marselisborg Castle, which is the Danish royal vacation residence. It’s placed at the Memorial Park in Aarhus.

The castle is not open to the public, but the park is however, when the royal family doesn’t stay at the residence.

Clausholm Castle

Feel the 18th century atmosphere in the old royal chambers at Clausholm and listen to the many exciting stories that are hidden all over the Castle. Look into the vaulted cellars and see the large collection of Danish and Norwegian stoves, and finish off with a stroll on your own in the baroque park accompanied by the sound of birds singing and fountains cascading.

Rosenholm Castle

Rosenholm Castle was built by chancellor Jørgen Rosenkrantz. It was finished in 1570 and has belonged to the family ever since.
Rosenholm Castle is not furnished as a museum, but is fitted excactly as it was a generation ago, as the home of a noble family.
Here you will find examples of how one of Denmark’s most influencial noble families has lived through 450 years.

Vilhelmsborg

The manor Vilhelmsborg’s history goes back to the 14th century, where esquire Orm had Vilhelmsborg as his estate. The main building, which you still can see today, is built in the years 1843-44 by Baron Ove C.L.E. Gyldenkrone. The style of the buildings is from the classical period, and it has not only been in Denmark the buildings aroused attention, but also in many places abroad.
